How it works

1. Activate Tortured Existence by paying and discarding a creature card, returning any other creature card from your graveyard to your hand.
2. Insidious Roots triggers, creating a 0/1 Plant creature token, then putting a +1/+1 counter on each Plant you control.
3. Activate the Plant by tapping it, adding .
4. Repeat.

This clever loop uses Tortured Existence as your engine, requiring you to discard a creature card and spend {B} to swap it with another creature waiting in your graveyard. Every time that card leaves your graveyard, Insidious Roots triggers to produce a 0/1 Plant creature token and grows your growing army with +1/+1 counters. Thanks to Samut, Voice of Dissent granting your board haste, that newly minted Plant can immediately tap for mana using the ability granted by Insidious Roots. That generated mana effortlessly pays for the next activation of Tortured Existence, creating a self-sustaining loop that floods the board with infinite creature tokens, enter-the-battlefield triggers, and indefinitely growing Plants.
