How it works

1. Activate Tortured Existence by paying and discarding a creature card, returning any other creature card from your graveyard to your hand.
2. Insidious Roots triggers, creating a 0/1 Plant creature token, then putting a +1/+1 counter on each Plant you control.
3. Activate the Plant by tapping it, adding .
4. Repeat.

This loop turns a simple graveyard swap into an engine of continuous growth, fueled by Tortured Existence letting you pitch a creature to retrieve another from your graveyard for a single mana. Every time a creature card leaves your graveyard to feed that cycle, Insidious Roots triggers to spawn a 0/1 Plant creature token and pump your entire botanical army with +1/+1 counters. Those very same Plants can immediately tap for mana thanks to the mana ability granted by Insidious Roots, cleanly refunding the black mana required to keep Tortured Existence humming. Meanwhile, Kratos, God of War ensures all your creatures have haste the moment they enter, while passively punishing opponents during each end step for any creatures they left sitting on the sidelines.
