How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the nontoken creature, adding CC.
2. When the creature dies, Mortuary triggers, putting the creature from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Cast the creature by paying its mana cost.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop hinges on the synergy between Ashnod's Altar and Mortuary, which together turn any creature you control into a perpetual engine for sacrifice, death triggers, and colorless mana. Whenever you sacrifice that creature to the Altar for two mana, Mortuary immediately intercepts it on its way to the graveyard, placing it right back on top of your library. While One with the Multiverse isn't strictly required to execute this basic loop, its top-deck permissions and once-per-turn free spell provide incredible utility to dig for your pieces or cast the recycled creature right back onto the battlefield to keep the cycle going.
