How it works

1. Cast Day of the Dragons by paying 7 life due to Demon of Fate's Design.
2. When Day of the Dragons enters the battlefield, its first ability and Cloudstone Curio trigger.
3. Resolve the Cloudstone Curio trigger, returning nothing to your hand from the battlefield.
4. Resolve the Day of the Dragons trigger, exiling all creatures you control and creating that many 5/5 Dragon creature tokens.
5. When the Dragon(s) enter the battlefield, Cloudstone Curio triggers that many times.
6. Resolve all but one Cloudstone Curio trigger, returning nothing to your hand from the battlefield.
7. Resolve the final Cloudstone Curio trigger, returning Day of the Dragons to your hand from the battlefield.
8. When Day of the Dragons leaves the battlefield, its second ability triggers, causing you to sacrifice all Dragons you control and return all cards exiled with Day of the Dragons to the battlefield.
9. When the creatures that were exiled by Day of the Dragons enter the battlefield, Cloudstone Curio and Auriok Champion trigger that many times.
10. Resolve all Auriok Champion triggers, causing you to gain life equal to the number of creatures that entered the battlefield.
11. Resolve all Cloudstone Curio triggers, returning nothing to your hand from the battlefield.
12. Repeat.
13. If you control eight or more nontoken creatures, this combo nets infinite life.

This intricate loop transforms the battlefield into an endless cycle of draconic transformation fueled by alternative casting costs and type-shifting magic. With Enchanted Evening turning every permanent into an enchantment, Demon of Fate's Design lets you cast Day of the Dragons entirely for free using your life total instead of mana. Once Day of the Dragons enters, Cloudstone Curio lets you bounce the enchantment back to your hand by exploiting the shared permanent types granted by Enchanted Evening, which in turn triggers Day of the Dragons' departure ability to return your original creatures. As those creatures flood back in, Auriok Champion catches every single entry to pad your life total, ensuring you easily recoup the life spent on Demon of Fate's Design while generating boundless entry, exit, and sacrifice triggers.
