How it works

  1. Activate a basic Island by tapping it, adding U mana.
  2. Activate Earthcraft by tapping Venser, untapping the Island.
  3. Activate a basic Island by tapping it, adding U mana.
  4. Activate Earthcraft by tapping Jin-Gitaxias, untapping the Island.
  5. Cast Ghostly Flicker by paying U mana, targeting any two applicable targets.
  6. Jin-Gitaxias' first ability triggers, copying Ghostly Flicker, with the copy targeting Venser and Jin-Gitaxias.
  7. Resolve the copy of Ghostly Flicker, blinking Jin-Gitaxias and Venser.
  8. When Venser enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning the original Ghostly Flicker to your hand from the stack.
  9. Repeat.

This intricate loop centers around casting Ghostly Flicker and using Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant to copy it, ensuring that you always have an extra spell to work with even as the original is constantly returned to your hand. Every time the copied Flicker resolves to blink both Venser, Shaper Savant and Jin-Gitaxias, Venser's entrance trigger snatches the original Ghostly Flicker right off the stack back to your hand, allowing you to recast it endlessly. Meanwhile, Earthcraft turns your creatures—even Jin-Gitaxias and Venser themselves—into mana-generating engines by tapping them to untap your basic lands to pay for the spell. Though not mentioned in the step-by-step dance, Council of the Absolute sits safely on the battlefield naming a key threat or counterspell, completely locking opponents out of casting that card while subtly shaving mana off your own utility spells if applicable.
