How it works

1. Cast Brilliant Restoration by paying 3.
2. In response, cast Dualcaster Mage by paying 1.
3. Dualcaster Mage enters the battlefield, copying Brilliant Restoration.
4. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Dualcaster Mage, causing any player to mill two cards.
5. Resolve a copy of Brilliant Restoration, returning all nonland permanent cards from your graveyard to the battlefield.
6. Repeat from step 3.

This brilliant loop transforms your graveyard into a playground by taking advantage of Encroaching Mycosynth, which turns all your nonland permanents and permanent cards everywhere—including your graveyard—into artifacts. Once you cast Brilliant Restoration, it floods the board with everything you've discarded, but the real magic begins when you flash in Dualcaster Mage in response. Dualcaster Mage copies the original Brilliant Restoration right onto the stack, and before that copy resolves, Altar of Dementia lets you cheerfully sacrifice Dualcaster Mage to mill away some cards while sending the Mage right back to the graveyard. When the copied Brilliant Restoration resolves, it hauls Dualcaster Mage and any other accumulated artifacts and enchantments straight back to the battlefield, setting you up to copy the spell all over again.
