How it works

1. Cost Not Dead After All by paying , targeting a creature you control.
2. Holding priority, cast Dualcaster Mage by paying 1.
3. When Dualcaster Mage enters the battlefield, it triggers, copying Not Dead After All, with the copy targeting Dualcaster Mage.
4. Resolve the copy of Not Dead After All.
5. Holding priority, activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Dualcaster Mage.
6. When Dualcaster Mage dies, it triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to the battlefield with a Wicked Role token attached to it.
7. When Dualcaster Mage enters the battlefield, it triggers, copying Not Dead After All, with the copy targeting Dualcaster Mage.
8. Resolve the copy of Not Dead After All.
9. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability, causing target player to mill cards equal to Dualcaster Mage's power.
10. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Dualcaster Mage.
11. When Dualcaster Mage dies, it and the Wicked Role token attached to it trigger.
12. Resolve the Wicked Role trigger, causing each opponent to lose 1 life.
13. Resolve the Dualcaster Mage trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a Wicked Role token attached to it.
14. Repeat from step 7.

This infinite loop relies on a brilliant recursive chain ignited by casting Not Dead After All and immediately backing it up with Dualcaster Mage to copy the spell onto itself. Once Dualcaster Mage is protected by that lingering resurrection effect, you sacrifice it to Altar of Dementia to mill an opponent, triggering its immediate return to the battlefield via the spell's delayed trigger. Because re-entering the battlefield lets Dualcaster Mage copy Not Dead After All all over again, you establish a self-sustaining cycle of sacrifices and resurrections that mills your opponents out entirely.
