How it works

1. Cast Infuse with Vitality by paying its mana cost.
2. Holding priority, cast Dualcaster Mage by paying its mana cost.
3. When Dualcaster Mage enters, it triggers, copying Infuse with Vitality, with the copy targeting Dualcaster Mage.
4. Resolve the copy of Infuse with Vitality.
5. Holding priority, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Dualcaster Mage.
6. When Dualcaster Mage dies, it triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
7. Repeat from step 3.

This clever loop turns Dualcaster Mage into an endlessly recurring engine fueled entirely by Ashnod's Altar and Infuse with Vitality. By using the Mage's own enter-the-battlefield trigger to copy Infuse with Vitality and target itself, you set up a self-sustaining cycle where sacrificing the Mage to the Altar not only nets you colorless mana and life, but also triggers the delayed return effect granted by the spell to bring the Mage right back to the battlefield. Because the Mage keeps entering and copying the spell anew, you generate an infinite supply of life, death triggers, and colorless mana.
