How it works

  1. Cast Incarnation Technique by paying its mana cost, targeting any applicable target.
  2. Holding priority, cast Dualcaster Mage by paying its mana cost.
  3. When Dualcaster Mage enters, it triggers, targeting Incarnation Technique.
  4. Holding priority, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Dualcaster Mage.
  5. Resolve the Dualcaster Mage trigger, copying Incarnation Technique, with the copy targeting Dualcaster Mage
  6. Resolve the Incarnation Technique copy, returning Dualcaster Mage from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  7. Repeat from step 3.

This clever loop begins by casting Incarnation Technique to set up our graveyard-recursion engine, while Ashnod's Altar sits ready to turn our creatures into raw materials. By casting Dualcaster Mage into the mix, its enters-the-battlefield ability steps in to copy our original spell, letting us target the very Incarnation Technique we have on the stack. From there, we simply sacrifice our mage to Ashnod's Altar for colorless mana just before the copy resolves, allowing the resulting Incarnation Technique resolution to pull Dualcaster Mage right back out of the graveyard and back onto the battlefield. This creates a perpetual cycle of sacrifices, mana generation, and spell copying that fuels itself indefinitely.
