How it works

1. Cast Persist by paying its mana cost, targeting any applicable target.
2. Holding priority, cast Dualcaster Mage by paying its mana cost.
3. When Dualcaster Mage enters, it triggers, targeting Persist.
4. Holding priority, activate Thermopod by sacrificing Dualcaster Mage.
5. Resolve the Dualcaster Mage trigger, copying Persist, with the copy targeting Dualcaster Mage
6. Resolve the Persist copy, returning Dualcaster Mage from your graveyard to the battlefield.
7. Repeat from step 3.

This ingenious loop turns a modest reanimation spell into an infinite engine by leveraging Dualcaster Mage's reflexive entry trigger to copy the very spell that brought it back. Whenever Dualcaster Mage enters the battlefield targeting Persist on the stack, Thermopod steps in to sacrifice the Mage for red mana, neatly resetting the loop and sending the Mage to the graveyard. From there, the newly resolved Persist copy pulls Dualcaster Mage right back out with a -1/-1 counter, ready to copy Persist all over again and generate boundless mana, sacrifices, and magecraft triggers.
