Ascend from Avernus
Infinite artifact tokensInfinite creature LTBInfinite creature ETBInfinite creature sacrifice triggersInfinite death triggersInfinite magecraft triggersInfinite Blood tokensInfinite recursion of creature cards in your graveyard
How it works
Cast Ascend from Avernus by paying 3
Holding priority, cast Dualcaster Mage by paying its mana cost.
When Dualcaster Mage enters, it triggers, targeting Ascend from Avernus.
Holding priority, activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Dualcaster Mage.
Resolve the Dualcaster Mage trigger, copying Ascend from Avernus
Resolve the Ascend from Avernus copy, returning Dualcaster Mage from your graveyard to the battlefield.
Repeat from step 3.
This clever loop begins with you casting Ascend from Avernus to set up the graveyard, then flashing in Dualcaster Mage to copy it right on the stack. As Dualcaster Mage enters, its trigger lets you target the original spell, but the true engine requires Shilgengar, Sire of Famine waiting in the wings. By sacrificing Dualcaster Mage to Shilgengar, you feed the Sire's appetite while leaving the stack open for the copied Ascend from Avernus to snatch Dualcaster Mage right back out of the graveyard. Each iteration produces a fresh Blood token from Shilgengar's sacrifice while endlessly repeating the magecraft and death triggers, creating a perpetual motion machine of recursion.
