How it works

1. Cast Demonic Gifts by paying its mana cost.
2. Holding priority, cast Dualcaster Mage by paying its mana cost.
3. When Dualcaster Mage enters, it triggers, copying Demonic Gifts, with the copy targeting Dualcaster Mage.
4. Resolve the copy of Demonic Gifts.
5. Holding priority, activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Dualcaster Mage.
6. When Dualcaster Mage dies, it triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
7. Repeat from step 3.
8. Resolve all Altar of Dementia abilities from step 5.

This loop turns a simple flicker effect into a devastating engine by establishing a self-sustaining cycle of resurrection. When you cast Dualcaster Mage with Demonic Gifts already on the stack, the Mage enters and copies the spell to target itself, granting it the ability to return upon death. You can then feed this immortal wizard to Altar of Dementia, sacrificing it to mill an opponent while triggering its return to the battlefield—which immediately sets off another copy of Demonic Gifts to start the cycle anew.
