How it works

1. Cast Return to Action by paying its mana cost.
2. Holding priority, cast Dualcaster Mage by paying its mana cost.
3. When Dualcaster Mage enters, it triggers, copying Return to Action, with the copy targeting Dualcaster Mage.
4. Resolve the copy of Return to Action.
5. Holding priority, activate Thermopod by sacrificing Dualcaster Mage.
6. When Dualcaster Mage dies, it triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
7. Repeat from step 3.

This clever loop begins by leveraging Dualcaster Mage's flash and enter-the-battlefield trigger to copy Return to Action, targeting the Mage itself with that very recursion spell. Once the foundation is set, Thermopod steps in as both a crucial sacrifice outlet and a mana engine, turning each death into red mana while sending the Mage to the graveyard. Because Return to Action’s delayed trigger immediately rescues the Mage and brings it back to the battlefield, you can endlessly repeat the cycle to generate infinite red mana, sacrifices, and enter-the-battlefield triggers.
