How it works

1. Cast Entering by paying its mana cost, targeting any applicable target.
2. Holding priority, cast Dualcaster Mage by paying its mana cost.
3. When Dualcaster Mage enters, it triggers, targeting Entering.
4. Holding priority, activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Dualcaster Mage.
5. Resolve the Dualcaster Mage trigger, copying Entering, with the copy targeting Dualcaster Mage
6. Resolve the Entering copy, returning Dualcaster Mage from your graveyard to the battlefield.
7. Repeat from step 3.

This clever loop turns the Entering half of Breaking // Entering into a self-sustaining resurrection engine, fueled by Dualcaster Mage entering the battlefield to endlessly copy the spell that brought it back. Altar of Dementia acts as the vital outlet for this cycle, using the repeatedly sacrificed Dualcaster Mage to mill your opponent's entire library away card by card.
