How it works

1. Cast Lively Dirge by paying 1 plus an additional 2 to select its second mode, targeting a card in your graveyard.
2. Holding priority, cast Dualcaster Mage by paying its mana cost.
3. When Dualcaster Mage enters, it triggers, targeting Lively Dirge.
4. Holding priority, activate Umbral Collar Zealot by sacrificing Dualcaster Mage.
5. Resolve the Dualcaster Mage trigger, copying Lively Dirge
6. Resolve the Lively Dirge copy, returning Dualcaster Mage from your graveyard to the battlefield.
7. Repeat from step 3.

This clever loop begins by casting Lively Dirge with its second spree mode selected to target a creature in your graveyard, setting the stage for recurrence. Before it resolves, you flash in Dualcaster Mage, whose triggered ability targets the original spell on the stack. By sacrificing Dualcaster Mage to Umbral Collar Zealot's activation in response, you feed the surveil mechanic while clearing the board for the copy of Lively Dirge to resolve and pull Dualcaster Mage right back from the graveyard. This creates an endless cycle that endlessly recycles your spells and creatures to generate infinite entry, death, and magecraft triggers.
