How it works
- Cast Technomancer by paying 5.
- When Technomancer enters, it triggers, causing you to mill three cards and return Phyrexian Metamorph from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Technomancer.
- When Phyrexian Metamorph enters, it triggers. Holding priority, activate Extruder by sacrificing Phyrexian Metamorph.
- Resolve the Phyrexian Metamorph trigger, causing you to mill three cards and return Phyrexian Metamorph from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Technomancer.
- Repeat from step 3.
This clever loop relies on Technomancer's entrance trigger to continuously resurrect a copied clone from the graveyard, fueled by the recursive engine itself. By having Phyrexian Metamorph enter the battlefield as a copy of Technomancer, you generate a fresh enter-the-battlefield trigger to recur artifacts, which can then be instantly sacrificed to Extruder's activated ability. Because Extruder lets you sacrifice an artifact to distribute +1/+1 counters while sending the Metamorph back to the graveyard to be re-targeted, the cycle becomes completely self-sustaining.
