How it works
- Play Petrified Field.
- When Petrified Field enters the battlefield, Kodama of the East Tree and Seed the Land trigger.
- Resolve the Kodama of the East Tree trigger, putting nothing onto the battlefield.
- Holding priority, activate Petrified Field's second ability by tapping and sacrificing it, returning Echoing Deeps from your graveyard to your hand.
- Resolve the Seed the Land trigger, creating a token.
- When the token enters the battlefield, Kodama of the East Tree triggers, putting Echoing Deeps from your hand onto the battlefield untapped as a copy of Petrified Field.
- When Echoing Deeps enters the battlefield, Seed the Land triggers.
- Holding priority, activate Echoing Deeps using Petrified Field's second ability by tapping and sacrificing it, returning Petrified Field from your graveyard to your hand.
- Resolve the Seed the Land trigger, creating a token.
- When the token enters the battlefield, Kodama of the East Tree triggers, putting Petrified Field from your hand onto the battlefield.
- When Petrified Field enters the battlefield, Seed the Land triggers.
- Repeat from step 4.
This intricate loop turns a simple land drop into an endless cycle of creation, anchored by Kodama of the East Tree's ability to effortlessly drop permanents from your hand whenever another enters the battlefield. Every time a land enters, Seed the Land steps in to generate a 1/1 green Snake creature token, which in turn triggers Kodama of the East Tree all over again to keep the chain moving. Meanwhile, Horizon Explorer ensures your lands enter untapped right away, feeding the loop with smooth mana availability. The engine sustains itself by bouncing Petrified Field and Echoing Deeps back and forth between the battlefield and your hand via Petrified Field's sacrifice ability, with Echoing Deeps cleverly copying whichever land is waiting in the graveyard to restart the cycle.
