Infinite landfall triggers

How it works

  1. Play Dimir Aqueduct.
  2. Kodama of the East Tree, Sakashima of a Thousand Faces, and Dimir Aqueduct trigger.
  3. Resolve the Sakashima of a Thousand Faces trigger, choosing not to put anything from your hand onto the battlefield.
  4. Resolve the Dimir Aqueduct trigger, returning it to your hand.
  5. Resolve the Kodama of the East Tree trigger, putting Dimir Aqueduct onto the battlefield.
  6. Sakashima of a Thousand Faces and Dimir Aqueduct trigger.
  7. Resolve the Dimir Aqueduct trigger, returning it to your hand.
  8. Resolve the Sakashima of a Thousand Faces token's trigger, putting Dimir Aqueduct onto the battlefield.
  9. Kodama of the East Tree and Dimir Aqueduct trigger.
  10. Repeat from step 5.

This ingenious loop relies on a clever bit of clone geometry made possible by Sakashima of a Thousand Faces, which enters as a copy of Kodama of the East Tree while bypassing the legend rule thanks to its own static ability. Because you control two separate triggers of Kodama's triggered ability whenever a permanent enters, playing Dimir Aqueduct sets off a cascading chain reaction. As Dimir Aqueduct enters and bounces itself back to your hand, each Kodama triggers in turn to drop the land right back onto the battlefield, creating an endless cycle of self-sustaining landfall triggers without ever needing to spend more mana.
