How it works

1. Play Izzet Boilerworks.
2. When Izzet Boilerworks enters the battlefield, it, Greensleeves, and Kodama of the East Tree trigger.
3. Resolve the Kodama of the East Tree trigger, choosing not to put anything from your hand onto the battlefield.
4. Resolve the Izzet Boilerworks trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
5. Resolve the Greensleeves trigger, creating a token.
6. When the token enters the battlefield, Kodama triggers, putting Izzet Boilerworks from your hand onto the battlefield.
7. When Izzet Boilerworks enters the battlefield, it and Greensleeves trigger.
8. Repeat from step 4.

This ingenious loop relies on a clever interplay of bounce mechanics and landfall to generate an endless stream of 3/3 Badger creature tokens. When Izzet Boilerworks enters the battlefield, its triggered ability forces it right back to your hand, but that very movement—and the token it subsequently helps generate—fuels Kodama of the East Tree. Every time a Badger token enters thanks to Greensleeves, Maro-Sorcerer, Kodama's static trigger steps in to drop Izzet Boilerworks right back onto the battlefield from your hand, restarting the cycle without ever needing to spend additional mana.
