How it works
Play any land that enters the battlefield untapped and can tap to produce 1.
When the land enters the battlefield, Kodama of the East Tree and Retreat to Emeria trigger.
Resolve the Kodama of the East Tree trigger, choosing to put nothing onto the battlefield.
Resolve the Retreat to Emeria trigger, creating a 1/1 Kor Ally creature token.
When the creature token enters the battlefield, Kodama of the East Tree triggers.
Holding priority, activate the land played in step 1 by tapping it, adding at least 1.
Storm Cauldron triggers, returning the land from the battlefield to your hand.
Resolve the Kodama of the East Tree trigger, putting the land from your hand onto the battlefield.
When the land enters the battlefield, Retreat to Emeria triggers, creating a 1/1 Kor Ally creature token.
Repeat from step 5.
This elegant loop turns a simple land drop into an engine of continuous creation, fueled by Kodama of the East Tree's ability to cheat permanents into play whenever another permanent enters your side of the battlefield. As your land enters, Retreat to Emeria triggers to spawn a 1/1 Kor Ally token, which in turn triggers Kodama of the East Tree to pull a permanent of equal or lesser mana value from your hand. By tapping that land for mana in response, Storm Cauldron immediately bounces it back to your hand so Kodama of the East Tree can drop it right back onto the battlefield, restarting the cycle.
