How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Weaponcraft Enthusiast.
2. When Weaponcraft Enthusiast dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Weaponcraft Enthusiast enters, its fabricate ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Isilu, Carrier of Twilight—the backside of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn—to grant your other nontoken creatures persist, letting Weaponcraft Enthusiast bounce back from the graveyard with a -1/-1 counter whenever it hits the bin. That persist counter is immediately neutralized when Weaponcraft Enthusiast enters the battlefield and its fabricate ability triggers, allowing you to place a +1/+1 counter on it that cancels out the -1/-1 counter through state-based actions. With its counters cleared, Altar of Dementia can repeatedly sacrifice the Enthusiast to mill an opponent out, all while fueling an infinite cycle of deaths and resurrections.
