How it works

1. At the beginning of your combat phase, Rionya triggers, creating at least one token copy of Sage of Hours that enters the battlefield with at least five +1/+1 counters due to Bloodspore Thrinax.
2. Activate the Sage of Hours token by removing all +1/+1 counters from it, causing you to take at least one extra turn after this one.
3. Repeat each turn.

This clever loop leverages Bloodspore Thrinax as a powerful passive engine, letting its devour-derived counters scale up so that other creatures enter the battlefield uniquely fortified. When Rionya, Fire Dancer triggers at the beginning of combat, she churns out hasty token copies of Sage of Hours directly into the fray. Because of the Thrinax's static buff, those fresh tokens arrive already carrying the necessary weight of +1/+1 counters to immediately cash in using Sage of Hours's own activated ability for endless extra turns.
