How it works

1. If you have more than three cards in hand, activate Ghostly Pilferer by discarding a card.
2. Repeat step 1 until you have three or fewer cards in hand.
3. At the beginning of your end step, Doctor Octopus triggers, causing you to draw at least five cards.
4. Lyla triggers for each card drawn, putting that many +1/+1 counters on Sage of Hours.
5. Activate Sage of Hours by removing all +1/+1 counters from it, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
6. Repeat each turn.

This clever setup revolves around converting your end step card draw into an endless succession of extra turns. With Doctor Octopus, Master Planner fueling your hand size up to eight and automatically drawing you back up to that maximum at the end of your turn, you can easily discard excess cards into the graveyard using Ghostly Pilferer's activated ability to thin your hand down as needed. Once Doctor Octopus, Master Planner triggers to draw those five or more cards, Lyla, Holographic Assistant leaps into action, turning each drawn card into a +1/+1 counter placed squarely onto Sage of Hours. Finally, you cash in those accumulated counters with Sage of Hours's own ability to take extra turns indefinitely, locking down the game while your remaining cards and the +2/+2 anthem from Doctor Octopus, Master Planner keep your board state overwhelmingly threatening.
