How it works

1. Cast Altered Ego by paying 7.
2. Chulane triggers, causing you to draw a card and allowing you to put a land onto the battlefield from your hand.
3. Resolve Altered Ego, causing it to enter the battlefield as a copy of Sage of Hours with five +1/+1 counters on it.
4. Activate Altered Ego by removing all +1/+1 counters from it, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
5. Activate Chulane by paying 3 and tapping it, returning Altered Ego to your hand from the battlefield.
6. Repeat each turn.
