How it works

1. If you have more than three cards in hand, activate Dream Trawler by discarding a card.
2. Repeat step 1 until you have three or fewer cards in hand.
3. At the beginning of your end step, Doctor Octopus triggers, causing you to draw at least five cards.
4. Lyla triggers for each card drawn, putting that many +1/+1 counters on Sage of Hours.
5. Activate Sage of Hours by removing all +1/+1 counters from it, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
6. Repeat each turn.

This clever engine transforms the simple act of cleaning out your grip into an endless sequence of extra turns. By using Dream Trawler's activated ability to deliberately dump your hand down to three or fewer cards, you set up Doctor Octopus, Master Planner to refill your hand by five or more cards at your end step. Every single card drawn this way triggers Lyla, Holographic Assistant, which pours a massive wave of +1/+1 counters directly onto Sage of Hours. Once Sage of Hours has gathered enough counters, you simply strip them away to seize infinite extra turns, all while Doctor Octopus, Master Planner pumps your board and Dream Trawler provides a massive evasive threat ready to close out the game.
