How it works

1. If you have more than three cards in hand, activate Prognostic Sphinx by discarding a card.
2. Repeat step 1 until you have three or fewer cards in hand.
3. At the beginning of your end step, Doctor Octopus triggers, causing you to draw at least five cards.
4. Lyla triggers for each card drawn, putting that many +1/+1 counters on Sage of Hours.
5. Activate Sage of Hours by removing all +1/+1 counters from it, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
6. Repeat each turn.

This brilliant sequence turns your end step into an endless engine of chronological loops by weaponizing the cards in your hand. While Doctor Octopus, Master Planner pumps your hand size and automatically fills it back up to eight if you fall short, Prognostic Sphinx lets you precisely sculpt your hand size downward by discarding cards into the graveyard. Once you hit the end step with fewer than eight cards, Doctor Octopus, Master Planner triggers a massive card draw that Lyla, Holographic Assistant immediately translates into a cascade of +1/+1 counters. These counters are safely piled onto Sage of Hours until you have at least five, allowing you to strip them away for an extra turn—at which point you simply repeat the process to lock down the game forever.
