How it works

1. Activate Wild Cantor by sacrificing it.
2. When Wild Cantor dies, Mortuary and Vein Ripper trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Wild Cantor from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Vein Ripper trigger, causing you to gain 2 life and target opponent to lose 2 life.
5. Cast Wild Cantor from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop turns a humble one-mana creature into a lethal engine by leveraging the top-deck manipulation of Mortuary alongside the life-payment casting engine of Bolas's Citadel. When you sacrifice Wild Cantor for mana, Mortuary instantly redirects it back to the top of your library instead of letting it rest in the graveyard, allowing you to recast it off the top using life rather than mana. Meanwhile, Vein Ripper oversees the whole process with its passive drain ability, turning every single death into life gained for you and life lost for your opponents to easily offset the life you pay to Citadel.
