How it works

1. Activate Wild Cantor by sacrificing it.
2. When Wild Cantor dies, Mortuary and Al Bhed Salvagers trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Wild Cantor from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Al Bhed Salvagers trigger, causing you to gain 1 life and target opponent to lose 1 life.
5. Cast Wild Cantor from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop turns life into a resource to fuel a continuous cycle of sacrifice and rebirth, heavily enabled by Bolas's Citadel allowing you to bypass mana costs and cast Wild Cantor straight from the top of your library for just 1 life instead of paying its actual cost. As Wild Cantor is repeatedly sacrificed, Mortuary ensures the creature never stays in the graveyard, instantly placing it right back on top of your library to keep the Citadel engine running. Meanwhile, Al Bhed Salvagers sits on the battlefield passively converting every single one of those deaths into a draining life-swing against your opponents, more than offsetting the life you pay to cast the Cantor.
