How it works

1. Draw a card.

3. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing the Insect.
4. Laid to Rest triggers, causing you to draw a card.
5. The Locust God triggers, creating a 1/1 Insect creature token.
6. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability, causing target player to mill cards equal to the Insect's power.
7. Repeat from step 3.

This fascinating loop turns a modest swarm of insects into a self-sustaining engine by transforming them into honorary humans. With Xenograft declaring "Human," every token created by The Locust God immediately qualifies to trigger Laid to Rest whenever it perishes. When you sacrifice that insect to Altar of Dementia, Laid to Rest replaces the lost creature by drawing you a card, which in turn causes The Locust God to spawn a brand-new token replacement ready to feed back into the altar.
