How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Colossus by tapping it, dealing 8 damage to any target and causing you to gain eight life.
2. Activate Phyrexian Colossus by paying eight life, untapping it.
3. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms Phyrexian Colossus into a self-sustaining artillery engine by bypassing its usual untap restriction. Enchanting it with Burning Anger grants the mechanical ability to tap and hurl its massive power directly at any target, which True Conviction immediately supplements by giving the Colossus lifelink to offset the heavy life payments required to untap it. Finally, True Conviction's double strike doubles the creature's power—and consequently the damage dealt by Burning Anger—while also generating an excess of life that easily sustains the engine's mana-free activation loop indefinitely.
