How it works

1. Activate Steelfin Whale using the ability granted to it by Burning Anger by tapping it, dealing 3 damage to Smaug.
2. Smaug triggers, creating three Treasure tokens.
3. When the Treasure enters, Steelfin Whale triggers that many times.
4. Resolve the first Steelfin Whale trigger, untapping it.
5. Holding priority, activate Steelfin Whale by tapping it, dealing 3 damage to any target
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 once, then repeat step 4 an additional time.
7. Repeat from step 1.

This brilliant setup transforms a dragon's hoard into a self-sustaining engine by turning Steelfin Whale into a lethal artillery piece with Burning Anger. Because Smaug the Impenetrable is indestructible, we can safely pepper it with noncombat damage to harvest a flood of Treasure tokens. Each of those newly minted Treasures enters the battlefield and triggers Steelfin Whale's untap ability, perfectly funding the loop so you can repeat the process indefinitely.
