How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Eternal Scourge, adding CC.
2. When Eternal Scourge dies as a Vampire due to Rukarumel, Timothar triggers, causing you to pay 1 and exile Eternal Scourge to create a 1/1 Bat creature token.
3. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the Bat, adding CC.
4. Cast Eternal Scourge from exile by paying 3.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Rukarumel, Biologist into a typographical bridge, making your creature cards and spells—specifically Eternal Scourge—into Vampires so they interact seamlessly with Timothar, Baron of Bats. When Eternal Scourge hits the graveyard, Timothar lets you exile it to deploy a Bat token, which you can immediately sacrifice to Ashnod's Altar for the mana needed to pay Timothar's fee. Because Eternal Scourge has the unique ability allowing you to cast it directly from exile, you can continuously recast and sacrifice it to generate an endless engine of death, entry, and sacrifice triggers.
