How it works

  1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Ilharg.
  2. When Ilharg dies, it triggers, putting itself from your graveyard into your library.
  3. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability, causing you to mill cards equal to Ilharg's power, which will cause you to mill Ilharg.
  4. As Ilharg is a Lhurgoyf due to Rukarumel, Disa's first ability triggers, returning Ilharg from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  5. Repeat.

This intricate loop turns the Boar God into a self-sustaining engine of mill and rebirth, beautifully orchestrated by Rukarumel, Biologist naming Lhurgoyf so that every nontoken creature you own—including Ilharg, the Raze-Boar—becomes a Lhurgoyf even outside the battlefield. With that type-altering foundation set, sacrificing Ilharg to Altar of Dementia triggers its own replacement clause to slide back into your library, while the Altar's mill immediately dredges it right back out again. Because Ilharg is a Lhurgoyf, Disa the Restless sees it enter the graveyard from outside the battlefield and snaps it right back onto the battlefield, ready to be sacrificed anew.
