How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Unstoppable Slasher, adding CC.
2. When Unstoppable Slasher dies, its second ability triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to the battlefield with two stun counters on it.
3. When Unstoppable Slasher enters the battlefield, Trostani triggers, causing you to gain life equal to Unstoppable Slasher's toughness.
4. Activate Hex Parasite by paying 2 and 2 life, removing both stun counters from Unstoppable Slasher and giving Hex Parasite +2/+0 until end of turn.
5. Repeat.

This ingenious loop turns Unstoppable Slasher's self-resurrection drawback into an engine by feeding it directly to Ashnod's Altar for mana. Every time Unstoppable Slasher returns to the battlefield, Trostani, Selesnya's Voice capitalized on its toughness to continuously pad your life total while the Slasher arrives with the stun counters that Hex Parasite effortlessly strips away using its Phyrexian mana activation. As an added bonus, all those removed counters pump Hex Parasite into a devastatingly massive threat until end of turn.
