How it works
- Cast Machine God's Effigy by paying 4. Choose to have it enter the battlefield as a copy of Technomancer.
- When Machine God's Effigy enters, it and Grinding Station trigger.
- Resolve the Grinding Station trigger, untapping it.
- Holding priority, activate Machine God's Effigy by tapping it, adding .
- Activate Grinding Station by tapping it and sacrificing Machine God's Effigy.
- Resolve the Machine God's Effigy trigger, causing you to mill three cards and return Machine God's Effigy from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Technomancer.
- Repeat from step 2.
This ingenious loop transforms a simple copy effect into a self-sustaining engine by taking advantage of Technomancer's enter-the-battlefield ability. When you cast Machine God's Effigy as a clone of Technomancer, its entry triggers Grinding Station to untap, allowing you to sacrifice the copied Effigy to mill an opponent while filtering through your deck. Because Technomancer's recursion clause can pull back any artifact creature with a total mana value of 6 or less, the Effigy continually returns to the battlefield as a fresh copy of Technomancer to restart the entire sequence.
