How it works

1. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Visionary Augmenter.
2. When Visionary Augmenter dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Visionary Augmenter enters, its fabricate ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Resolve the Bartolomé del Presidio ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop revolves around Isilu, Carrier of Twilight (the transformed face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn), which grants your other nontoken creatures the persist ability. When you sacrifice Visionary Augmenter to Bartolomé del Presidio, persist returns the Augmenter to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter, but its fabricate 2 ability immediately triggers to place a +1/+1 counter on it. Because state-based actions neutralize opposing +1/+1 and -1/+1 counters simultaneously, Visionary Augmenter is left clean of counters and ready to be sacrificed to Bartolomé del Presidio all over again.
