How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Reassembling Skeleton, adding .
2. Activate Reassembling Skeleton by paying 1, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3. Insidious Roots triggers, creating a creature token and putting a +1/+1 counter on each Plant you control.
4. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the creature token, adding 1.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop centers on Reassembling Skeleton's ability to pull itself back from the graveyard, providing a continuous stream of fodder for Phyrexian Altar to churn into black mana. As the Skeleton repeatedly leaves the graveyard, Insidious Roots notices the zone change to reward you with a growing garden of Plant tokens while also making those very same tokens capable of tapping for mana. By feeding the resulting tokens back into Phyrexian Altar along with the mana from Reassembling Skeleton's activation costs, you generate an endless engine of sacrifices, graveyard triggers, and escalating counters.
