How it works

1. Activate Thermopod by sacrificing Squee and Skyfire Phoenix, adding .
2. Cast Squee from your graveyard by paying .
3. Skyfire Phoenix triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
4. Repeat.

This recursive loop relies on Squee, the Immortal's unique ability to be cast directly from your graveyard, paired with Helm of Awakening to permanently slash its casting cost down to just a single red mana. By feeding both Squee and Skyfire Phoenix to Thermopod, you generate the red mana needed to keep recasting Squee over and over again. Every time you cast your commander, Skyfire Phoenix's trigger fires off to automatically return itself to the battlefield alongside Squee, ready to be sacrificed right back to Thermopod for an endless storm of sacrifices and triggers.
