How it works

1. Cast Whitemane Lion by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and Helm of Awakening.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Leyline of Vitality triggers, causing you to gain life.
4. Resolve Whitemane Lion. When it enters, it and Leyline of Vitality trigger.
5. Resolve the Whitemane Lion trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Leyline of Vitality trigger, causing you to gain life.
7. Repeat.

This loop achieves infinite creation by exploiting cost reducers to cast Whitemane Lion for free while netting a token and life gain every single cycle. With Helm of Awakening and Defiler of Faith reducing the Lion's mana cost down to zero—with the Defiler's life payment fulfilling the rest—you can repeatedly cast the cat without running out of mana. Each time you cast and bounce the Whitemane Lion, Defiler of Faith creates a 1/1 Soldier creature token, which immediately triggers Leyline of Vitality to pad your life total and keep the engine safely fueled.
