How it works

1. Cast Whitemane Lion by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and Helm of Awakening.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Answered Prayers triggers, causing you to gain life.
4. Resolve Whitemane Lion. When it enters, it and Answered Prayers trigger.
5. Resolve the Whitemane Lion trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Answered Prayers trigger, causing you to gain life.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Whitemane Lion into a self-sustaining engine by leveraging cost reducers to cast it for free. With Helm of Awakening lowering the generic cost and Defiler of Faith shaving away the remaining white mana in exchange for life, you can repeatedly recast the Lion for zero mana and two life. Each time Whitemane Lion re-enters the battlefield, it triggers its own self-bounce ability and animates Answered Prayers into a creature, which in turn triggers lifegain whenever Defiler of Faith spawns a Soldier token. Together, this interaction creates an infinite loop of creature entries, exits, lifegain, and token generation, fueled entirely by your life total.
