How it works

1. Cast Whitemane Lion by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and Helm of Awakening.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Auriok Champion triggers, causing you to gain life.
4. Resolve Whitemane Lion. When it enters, it and Auriok Champion trigger.
5. Resolve the Whitemane Lion trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Auriok Champion trigger, causing you to gain life.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on reducing the cost of creature spells to zero so you can repeatedly cast and bounce the same creature. With Helm of Awakening and Defiler of Faith both actively shaving down mana costs, Whitemane Lion becomes entirely free to cast, while Defiler of Faith simultaneously rewards each cast by spawning a 1/1 Soldier creature token. Every time that token or the Lion enters the battlefield, Auriok Champion triggers to pad your life total. Finally, the resolution of Whitemane Lion's own entry trigger ensures it returns safely to your hand, ready to be cast all over again for zero mana.
