How it works

1. Cast Kor Skyfisher by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and Helm of Awakening.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Kambal triggers, causing you to gain life.
4. Resolve Kor Skyfisher. When it enters, it and Kambal trigger.
5. Resolve the Kor Skyfisher trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Kambal trigger, causing you to gain life.
7. Repeat.

This loop uses the cost-reducing power of Helm of Awakening and Defiler of Faith to cast Kor Skyfisher entirely for free by paying 2 life instead of mana. Each time you cast the Skyfisher, Defiler of Faith triggers to create a 1/1 white Soldier creature token, which in turn triggers Kambal, Profiteering Mayor to drain your opponents and pad your life total. When Kor Skyfisher finally resolves, its own enters-the-battlefield ability forces you to return a permanent to your hand—naturally targeting the Skyfisher itself so you can reset the entire process infinitely.
