How it works

1. Cast Kor Skyfisher by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and Helm of Awakening.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Hinterland Sanctifier triggers, causing you to gain life.
4. Resolve Kor Skyfisher. When it enters, it and Hinterland Sanctifier trigger.
5. Resolve the Kor Skyfisher trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Hinterland Sanctifier trigger, causing you to gain life.
7. Repeat.

This ingenious loop turns Kor Skyfisher into a self-returning engine by leveraging cost reducers to eliminate its mana requirement entirely. With Helm of Awakening lowering generic costs and Defiler of Faith discounting the remaining white mana in exchange for life, you can repeatedly cast the Kor Skyfisher for free while Defiler of Faith rewards each casting with a fresh 1/1 Soldier token. Every time one of those tokens enters the battlefield, Hinterland Sanctifier triggers to replenish your life total, easily offsetting the life paid to the Defiler. Finally, when Kor Skyfisher resolves and forces you to bounce a permanent, it simply picks itself back up into your hand, ready to start the cycle anew for endless triggers and tokens.
