How it works

1. Cast Whitemane Lion by paying 0 and 2 life due to Defiler of Faith and Helm of Awakening.
2. Defiler of Faith triggers, creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
3. When the Soldier enters, Thunder of Unity triggers, causing you to gain life.
4. Resolve Whitemane Lion. When it enters, it and Thunder of Unity trigger.
5. Resolve the Whitemane Lion trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
6. Resolve the Thunder of Unity trigger, causing you to gain life.
7. Repeat.

This loop transforms Whitemane Lion into a self-sustaining engine by abusing cost-reduction mechanics: with Helm of Awakening on the board and Defiler of Faith paying life instead of white mana, the Lion becomes completely free to cast. Every time you cast the Cat, Defiler of Faith triggers to flood your board with 1/1 Soldier creature tokens. This endless parade of entering creatures then feeds chapters II and III of Thunder of Unity, draining your opponents out of the game while constantly padding your own life total to fuel the Defiler's life-payment cost.
