How it works

1. Activate Gyre Sage by tapping it, adding at least .
2. Activate Tidewater Minion by tapping it, targeting Gyre Sage.
3. Battlemage's Bracers triggers, causing you to pay 1 to copy Tidewater Minion's ability, targeting Tidewater Minion.
4. Resolve both Tidewater Minion abilities, untapping it and Gyre Sage.
5. Repeat.

This elegant loop turns Tidewater Minion into an untap engine that continuously refreshes Gyre Sage. By equipping Tidewater Minion with Battlemage's Bracers, every time the Minion is tapped to untap another permanent, you can pay {1} to copy that ability and untap the Minion itself. With Gyre Sage holding enough +1/+1 counters from its evolve ability to generate surplus green mana on each tap, the system easily pays for the Bracers' copy cost while going infinitely positive.
