How it works

1. Cast Martyrdom by paying 1, targeting Phyrexian Vindicator.
2. Activate Phyrexian Vindicator by paying 0, targeting a creature.
3. Attempt to deal damage to the targeted creature. The damage will then be increased due to Gratuitous Violence, then redirected to Phyrexian Vindicator, which is then redirected back to the creature that was originally targeted.
4. Holding priority, activate Phyrexian Vindicator by paying 0, targeting the creature.
5. Repeat step 4 until all damage will be redirected to Phyrexian Vindicator.
6. Repeat from step 3.

This loop turns Phyrexian Vindicator into an infinitely scaling engine of destruction, all set into motion by the redirection shield granted by Martyrdom. Because Gratuitous Violence doubles any damage your creatures deal, each time the Vindicator's replacement effect bounces the damage back and forth, the amount snowballs exponentially. By repeatedly activating that zero-cost redirection ability, you feed the doubled damage right back into the loop until your targeted opponent takes infinite damage.
