How it works

1. Cast Shard of the Nightbringer by paying 5.
2. When Shard of the Nightbringer enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing an opponent to lose their entire life total due to Bloodletter of Aclazotz and you to gain that much life.
3. The opponent loses the game due to having 0 or less life.

When you cast Shard of the Nightbringer, its Drain Life ability triggers to make an opponent lose half their life, rounded up. Enter Bloodletter of Aclazotz, whose replacement effect watches over that loss of life during your turn and promptly doubles it to the opponent's entire life total. This fatal amplification instantly reduces them to zero life while also padding your own life total with a massive influx of gained life.
