How it works

1. Activate Xavier Sal by tapping it and removing a counter from a permanent you control, creating a token copy of the Forest Dryad token.
2. When the Forest Dryad enters the battlefield, Intruder Alarm and Avenger of Zendikar trigger.
3. Resolve the Avenger of Zendikar trigger, putting a counter on a creature you control.
4. Resolve the Intruder Alarm trigger, untapping all creatures.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop starts by casting Awaken the Woods to flood the board with Forest Dryad land creature tokens, which conveniently double as creatures to be untapped and counters to be removed. With Intruder Alarm sitting passively on the battlefield, every single time Xavier Sal, Infested Captain populates a new Forest Dryad—fueled by removing a +1/+1 counter from a permanent—the alarm bells ring and untap all of your creatures, including Xavier himself. Meanwhile, Avenger of Zendikar's landfall presence turns each of those incoming Dryad entries into a massive growing party by pumping up your creatures with counters, which can then feed Xavier's ability to keep the cycle spinning infinitely.
