How it works

1. Activate Xavier Sal by tapping it and removing a counter from a permanent you control, creating a token copy of the Forest Dryad token.
2. When the Forest Dryad enters the battlefield, Intruder Alarm and Sunspring Expedition trigger.
3. Resolve the Sunspring Expedition trigger, putting a counter on a creature you control.
4. Resolve the Intruder Alarm trigger, untapping all creatures.
5. Repeat.

This intricate loop begins once you have populated the battlefield using Awaken the Woods to provide the initial Forest Dryad tokens. Xavier Sal, Infested Captain acts as the engine, utilizing its tap ability to consume a counter from a permanent—such as a quest counter previously built up on Sunspring Expedition—in order to populate another token copy. Every time a new Dryad arrives, Intruder Alarm triggers to untap all creatures, including Xavier Sal, allowing you to repeat the process indefinitely for an unending cascade of creature ETBs, landfall triggers, and untaps.
