How it works

1. Activate Kumena's first ability by tapping another nontoken Merfolk you control.
2. Deeproot Pilgrimage triggers, creating a 1/1 Merfolk creature token.
3. When the Merfolk enters the battlefield, Intruder Alarm triggers, untapping all creatures.
4. Resolve the Kumena ability, causing it to be unable to be blocked this turn.
5. Repeat.
6. You may activate Kumena's other abilities instead once you control enough Merfolks to do so, ensuring to tap at least one nontoken Merfolk each activation.

This clever loop transforms Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca into an endless engine of aquatic growth by leaning on the constant untapping power of Intruder Alarm. Every time you tap a nontoken Merfolk to pay for Kumena's unblockable ability, Deeproot Pilgrimage catches the action and produces a fresh 1/1 blue Merfolk token. The moment that token splashes onto the battlefield, Intruder Alarm triggers and instantly untaps all of your creatures, readying them to go again. Once you have enough bodies on board, you can pivot that exact same tap-and-untap sequence into infinite card draw, massive +1/+1 counters, or whatever else your watery army needs to overwhelm the table.
